I finally got around to reading my copy of Echoes by Jamilah Kolocotronis. I
really, really enjoyed it. Even I couldn't put it down this afternoon until I
finished the whole thing. I am making book two wait until tomorrow inshAllah or my kids will have my head! Alhamdulillah.

Jamilah, I really liked your method of changing back and forth from different
characters and their voices. I have considered that method before and I think
it was very effective in this book.

I've just read 'Rebounding' and wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed it.  It's a great story and I found it very hard to put down until I had finished it.

Sis Jamilah, your writing is awesome, Masha Allah! I need to
tell you that I cannot put your book down! You make the characters come
alive on the pages. I eagerly turn the pages and cannot wait to see
what the characters are up to. The book also does a great job of
showing the challenges that many of us reverts face with our non-
Muslim families. In your novel, Brother Isa is truly blessed to have
the support of his Muslim community. Like Brother Y. Emerick
observed, too many Muslim communities drop the ball after a new revert
declares Shahadah. Thank you and may Allah (swt) continue to guide
your pen/Ameen.

I just wanted to write to you and tell you how much I enjoyed reading your books. I have finished reading 2 of them already and am holding back on starting the 3rd one simply because once I start its almost impossible to put it down.

I am an avid reader of books, fiction and non-fiction and I must congratulate you on your writing ability. Masha Allah, you are a master storyteller. Your style is encapturing and very addictive. And the best part is that they serve the purpose of removing the stigma from the Muslim image. I have been recommending your books to all my friends and look forward to reading more of your books.

Assalamu alaikum sister Jamilah,
I wanted to let you know how much i am enjoying the novels you have
written. My husband picked them up at a recent conference he attended in
Chicago.
You have a great deal of talent and make your characters come alive.
I've read books written by other muslim writers that were almost painful to
read, the characters were so stiff and the story so in your face preaching
that my children hated them. It was with some misgivings i picked up that
first novel of yours and started reading. What an exciting surprise to find
a well written story! In fact I stayed up to finish the book. I was so
happy I wanted to let you know. Keep them coming. These are books my
children can enjoy.

sincerely,
joann alabsy

May 3--

Assalamu alaikum sr. Linda,
I have 4 children, 2 still in high school and my husband has many
nieces and nephews overseas who read english (albeit with difficulty) and want us
to bring them novels from America. My problem has been to find novels that are suitable for them. Your books have given me the incentive to keep looking for other Muslim authors.
It would be nice if your books would be able to reach the general
public also. People need to see the human face of Islam particularly when
they are young, in order to combat stereotypes. Keep your books coming.
sincerely,
Joann Al-Absy
